{Short Sales}Full-day T/O at HK$16bn, or 13% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 9 May 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$123.69
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$16.03 billion, or 12.96% of the market's
turnover. There were 655 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF (02828)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$2.1 billion and HK$872.45 million, or
13.07% and 5.44% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
15.84% and 37.41% of respective stock's turnover.
TENCENT (00700) and MEITUAN-W (03690) registered HK$821.59 million and HK$802.29 million
of short sales, accounting for 5.12% and 5% of the total short sales values respectively.
The transactions represented 13.97% and 17.96% of respective stock's turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed up HK$0.26, or 1.41%, to HK$18.67. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$0.96, or
1.47%, to HK$66.36. TENCENT rose HK$8.4, or 2.32% to HK$369.8. MEITUAN-W jumped HK$4.4, or
3.88%, to HK$117.9.
