{Short Sales}Full-day T/O at HK$21bn, or 16% of Total

[ET Net News Agency, 8 May 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$128.66
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$20.55 billion, or 15.97% of the market's
turnover. There were 654 short-selling stocks. TRACKER FUND (02800) and HSCEI ETF (02828)
saw higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$4.83 billion and HK$1.45 billion, or
23.51% and 7.05% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
55.52% and 48.86% of respective stock's turnover.
KUAISHOU-W (01024) and XIAOMI-W (01810) registered HK$965.54 million and HK$601.85
million of short sales, accounting for 4.7% and 2.93% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 35.37% and 10.69% of respective stock's
turnover.
TRACKER FUND closed down HK$0.15, or 0.81%, to HK$18.41. HSCEI ETF ended down HK$0.58,
or 0.88%, to HK$65.4. KUAISHOU-W fell HK$2, or 3.39% to HK$57. XIAOMI-W jumped HK$1.16, or
6.47%, to HK$19.1.
