{Short Sales}Full-day T/O at HK$19bn, or 16% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 25 April 2024] Full-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$119.91
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$18.79 billion, or 15.67% of the market's
turnover. There were 658 short-selling stocks. TENCENT (00700) and HSCEI ETF (02828) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.49 billion and HK$1.35 billion, or 7.94%
and 7.19% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented 15.79%
and 28.96% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and BANK OF CHINA (03988) registered HK$938.99 million and HK$673.43
million of short sales, accounting for 5% and 3.58% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 20.22% and 29.99% of respective stock's
turnover.
TENCENT closed down HK$4.8, or 1.39%, to HK$339.4. HSCEI ETF ended up HK$0.18, or 0.29%,
to HK$61.88. MEITUAN-W fell HK$2.1, or 1.85% to HK$111.5. BANK OF CHINA jumped HK$0.03, or
0.87%, to HK$3.49.
