{Short Sales}Half-day T/O at HK$11bn, or 15% of Total
[ET Net News Agency, 25 April 2024] Half-day turnover of Hong Kong stocks was HK$71.59
billion, with short-sales accounting for HK$10.57 billion, or 14.77% of the market's
turnover. There were 629 short-selling stocks. HSCEI ETF (02828) and TENCENT (00700) saw
higher value of short sales, accounting for HK$1.05 billion and HK$973.59 million, or
9.96% and 9.21% of the total short sales value respectively. The transactions represented
34.12% and 15.95% of respective stock's turnover.
MEITUAN-W (03690) and BANK OF CHINA (03988) registered HK$549.83 million and HK$473.21
million of short sales, accounting for 5.2% and 4.48% of the total short sales values
respectively. The transactions represented 21.36% and 31.47% of respective stock's
turnover.
HSCEI ETF closed up HK$0.36, or 0.58%, to HK$62.06. TENCENT ended down HK$4.4, or 1.28%,
to HK$339.8. MEITUAN-W fell HK$2.1, or 1.85% to HK$111.5. BANK OF CHINA jumped HK$0.03, or
0.87%, to HK$3.49.
