Hong Kong stocks rose in the morning, but the gains narrowed significantly. The HSI opened 63 points higher and the gains once extended to 142 points before narrowing considerably, closing up 83 points or 0.3% at 27,266. The HSCEI rose 25 points or 0.3% to close at 9,268, and the HSTECH rose 48 points or 0.9% to close at 5,499. The total turnover of the market was HK$217.2bn. MSCI announced changes to the China Index, with SenseTime (0020) and Pony.ai (2026), which were added, rising 2.9% and 2.6% respectively. Hesai (2525) rose 7.9%, while Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable (6869) saw its share price retreat by 5.7%.
