The Hang Seng Index opened 48 points lower, initially falling as much as 348 points to a low of 26,356, before narrowing its losses. At midday, it was down 161 points, or 0.6%, at 26,544; the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index was down 53 points, or 0.6%, at 9,016; and the Hang Seng Tech Index was down 122 points, or 2.3%, at 5,245. Total turnover for the morning session was HK$91.755 billion. The robot martial arts performance at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala became a hot topic, with robot concept stocks surging, and DOBOT (2432) rising 19.2%.
