Hong Kong stock market rebounded after the Christmas holiday with volatile trading. The HSI opened 109 points higher and rose as much as 264 points before narrowing its gains. It closed at 25,887 at mid-day, up 68 points or 0.26%. The HSCEI rose 68 points or 0.77% to 8,983; the HSTECH rose 88 points or 1.6% to 5,587. Total market turnover was HK$126.42bn. New energy vehicle stocks generally performed well. XPeng-W (9868) rose 6.3% as the group entered the Qatari market and reached a strategic cooperation agreement with a partner in Mauritius. Leapmotor (9863) issued domestic shares to FAW Group at a 10.7% premium, involving over HK$4.1bn, and its share price rose 3.6%.
