Market sentiment improved as hopes rose for easing tensions in the Israel-Iran conflict. The Hang Seng Index opened 47 points higher at 24,107, but turned lower throughout the day, closing down 80 points or 0.3% at 23,980. The China Enterprises Index fell 35 points or 0.4% to 8,694, while the Hang Seng Tech Index dropped 8 points or 0.1% to 5,292. Total market turnover for the day was HKD 202.1 billion. Oil prices fell overnight, putting pressure on oil stocks today. CNOOC (stock code: 883) dropped 2%, and PetroChina (857) fell 0.8%. Chow Tai Fook (1929) announced the issuance of convertible bonds, leading to a 7.3% decline in its stock price.
