Market sentiment improved amid hopes for easing tensions in the Israel conflict. The Hang Seng Index opened 47 points higher at 24,107, but turned lower by midday, dropping 32 points or 0.13% to 24,029. The China Enterprises Index fell 19 points or 0.2% to 8,710, while the Hang Seng Tech Index slipped 3 points or 0.1% to 5,297. Total market turnover for the morning session was HKD 108.1 billion. Oil stocks faced pressure today following a drop in oil prices last night. CNOOC (883) fell 2.3%, and PetroChina (857) dropped 1.2%. Chow Tai Fook (1929) announced the issuance of convertible bonds, leading to a 7.1% decline in its share price.
