The Hang Seng Index opened 209 points higher, rising over 270 points to 26,239 before narrowing its gains. The Hang Seng Index rose 192 points, or 0.7%, to 26,160. The H-share Index rose 63 points, or 0.7%, to 9,364. The Hang Seng Tech Index rose 108 points, or 1.8%, to 6,059. Market turnover for the day was 226.6 billion yuan. Chip stocks performed well, with SMIC (981) rising over 8% and Hua Hong Semiconductor (1347) rising 13.7%. Auto stocks, on the other hand, came under pressure, with Li Auto (2015) falling 2%.
