The Hong Kong stock market opened on a soft note. At midday, the Hang Seng Index closed at 25,140 points, down slightly by 24 points or 0.1%; the China Enterprises Index stood at 8,984 points, down 29 points or 0.32%; the Hang Seng Tech Index closed at 5,513 points, declining 28 points or 0.51%. The total turnover on the main board in the first half of the day was approximately HKD 124.2 billion. In terms of gains, China Unicom (0762) shares rose 3.69%, closing at HKD 10.39; NIO Inc. (9866) increased 4.40% at midday, closing at HKD 40.84; while Xiaomi (1810) saw its stock price retreat by 2.47%, closing at HKD 51.25.
