The Hang Seng Index closed at 23,530 points, up 292 points or 1.3%. The Hang Seng Tech Index ended at 5,133 points, rising 44 points or 0.9%. The China Enterprises Index gained 116 points or 1.4%, closing at 8,527 points. Total market turnover was HKD 222.423 billion. Li Ning (2331) saw a 4.8% rise in its stock price after its founder increased his holdings. Chinese insurance stocks performed well today: China Life Insurance (2628) rose 4.7%, and PICC Property and Casualty(2328) increased by 1.8%.
