US market saw mixed performance, while Hong Kong market fell in morning. The HSI opened 129 points lower and then extended its decline, closing down 245 points, or 0.9%, at 25,781. The HSCEI fell 78 points, or 0.8%, to 9,223, while the HSTECH dropped 84 points, or 1.4%, to 5,923. Total market turnover for the day was HK$227.54bn. Gold prices experienced their largest single-day drop in over a decade, with Lingbao (3330) falling 4.7%, Zijin (2899), Zhaojin (1818), and Shandong Gold (1787) dropping 1.7% to 2.4%. Laopu Gold (6181) raised a net HK$2.707bn from a rights issue at a 4.5% discount, with its share price falling 8.2%.
