Hong Kong stocks opened higher after the holiday. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that the U.S. has repeatedly expressed a desire to negotiate, and China is currently evaluating this. On the first trading day of May, the Hang Seng Index opened 73 points higher at 22,192 points and expanded its gains to 385 points or 1.7%, closing at 22,504 points. The China Enterprises Index rose 155 points or 1.9%, closing at 8,231 points. The Hang Seng Tech Index increased by 156 points or 3.1%, closing at 5,244 points. The total market turnover for the day was HKD 133.7 billion. WuXi AppTec (2359) led the market, rising 7.1%, and WuXi Biologics (2269) increased by 5.7%.
