Market Roundup

The Hang Seng Index opened 71 points higher, turned downward after the market opened, and then moved upward again. The Hang Seng Index rose 158 points or 0.7% to close at 22,663 points; the China Enterprises Index rose 30 points or 0.4% to close at 8,261 points; and the Hang Seng Tech Index fell 4 points or 0.1% to close at 5,239 points. The total market turnover for the day was HK$ 213.3 billion. After the Golden Week in China, Macau gaming stocks performed well, with Sands (1928) rising 5.3%. Domestic demand stocks also performed well, with Nongfu Spring (9633) rose 7.1%.
