Hong Kong stocks showed a firm trend in the morning session, with the three major indices closing slightly higher. The Hang Seng Index attempted to break through 25,120 points in the early session, closing at 25,057 points at noon, up 62 points or 0.25%. The Hang Seng Tech Index closed at 5,589 points, up 3 points or 0.07%. The China Enterprises Index closed at 9,040 points, slightly down 0 points or 0.01%. The total turnover for the main board in the morning session was approximately HK$137.7 billion. Dongfang Electric (1072) rose 5% stimulated by the commencement of large-scale hydropower projects in mainland China. On the downside, New Oriental Education (09901) fell over 4%.
