Tensions in the Middle East have further escalated, with Israel launching an airstrike on Iran. The Hang Seng Index closed at 23,893 points, down 143 points or 0.6%. The Hang Seng Tech Index ended at 5,239 points, down 92 points or 1.7%. The China Enterprises Index dropped 74 points or 0.8%, closing at 8,655 points. Chow Tai Fook (1929) reported earnings that exceeded market expectations, with its stock price rising 5.4%. Pharmaceutical stocks retreated, with Sino Biopharm (1177) falling 2.8% and CSPC Pharmaceutical (1093) down 2.3%.
