The US and Europe reached a tariff framework agreement, driving the Asia-Pacific market generally upward, and Hong Kong stock market also followed the outside world. The HSI opened 70 points higher and then expanded its gains to 279 points. It rose 173 points or 0.7% to 25,562 today; the HSCEI rose 26 points or 0.3% to 9,177; the HSTECH fell 13 points or 0.2% to 5,664. The total market turnover for the day was HK$250.3bn. Hengrui Medicine (1276) announced that it had signed an innovative drug licensing agreement with GlaxoSmithKline. If all projects are successfully developed and achieve commercial milestones, the potential total amount can reach approximately US$12bn. Hengrui's share price rose 24.5% today.
