Market Roundup
The Central Economic Work Conference was held in Beijing, and Hong Kong stock market rose in the morning. The HSI opened 230 points higher and then extended its gains, rising 348 points or 1.4% to 25,878 in the morning; the HSCEI rose 104 points or 1.2% to 9,039; and the HSTECH rose 80 points or 1.5% to 5,615. The total turnover of the market in the morning was HK$106.5bn. Gold prices rose significantly, with Zijin Mining (2899) up 3.6%, and China Gold International (2099), Shandong Gold (1787) and Zhaojin Mining (1818) rising 1.8% to 2.3%. Silver prices hit a new high, with China Silver Group (0815) rising 2.9%.
