Mainland Caixin Manufacturing PMI Misses Expectations; Market Anticipates Economic Stimulus Policies, Hong Kong Stocks Rise in Morning Session. The Hang Seng Index (HSI) opened 123 points higher and extended its gains, rising as much as 366 points to reach 23,524. By midday, it was up 262 points, or 1.1%, at 23,420. The China Enterprises Index (CEI) rose 107 points, or 1.3%, to 8,466. The Hang Seng Tech Index gained 30 points, or 0.6%, to 5,164. Total market turnover for the morning session was HKD 115.629 billion. Chinese financial stocks led the gains. Among mainland banks, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (1398), Agricultural Bank of China (1288), and China Construction Bank (939) rose between 2.6% and 3%.
