Hong Kong stock market fluctuated narrowly today. The HSI opened 87 points higher before falling 83 points, before recovering 48 points, or 0.2%, to 24,906. The HSCEI rose less than 1 point to 8,895, while the HSTECH rose 6 points, or 0.1%, to 5,466. Market turnover totaled HK$121.3bn at mid-day. Apple-related stocks continued to rise, with BYD Electronics (0285) and Lens Technology (6613) rising 5.7% and 5% respectively. Battery stock CATL (3750) rose 1.5% after reports that its Jiangxi lithium mine will halt production for at least three months. Lithium stocks Ganfeng Lithium (1772) and Tianqi Lithium (9696) surged 19.7% and 15.1%, respectively.
