Half Day Roundup

The Hang Seng Index opened flat this morning, opening at 16,253 point. The gain expanded to 217 points in the second half of the day and closed at 16,469 point; the H-Share Index rose 83 points, or 1.4%, to 5,833; the Hang Seng Technology Index rose 38 points, or 1.1%, to 3,378 point. The total half-day turnover of the market was HK$ 52.1 billion. China National Building Materials (3323) issued a profit warning, and its share price fell 6.6% to HK$2.82. Insurance stocks performed well today, with Ping An Insurance (2318) and China Life (2628) rising 4.9% and 3.8% respectively. Anta (2020) announced that its first-quarter retail sales performance was as expected, and its stock price rose nearly 5%.
