The Central Economic Work Conference was held in Beijing, and Hong Kong stock market rose today. The HSI opened 230 points higher this morning and extended its gains, closing up 446 points or 1.75% at 25,976; the HSCEI rose 145 points or 1.6% to close at 9,079; and the HSTECH rose 103 points or 1.9% to close at 5,638. The total turnover of the market was HK$242.7bn. Gold prices rose significantly, with Zijin Mining (2899), China Gold International (2099), Shandong Gold (1787), and Zhaojin Mining (1818) rising 3.4% to 3.8%. Silver prices hit a new high, with China Silver Group (0815) rising 5.8%.
