U.S. Continue to put pressure on trade negotiation
On Friday, Trump officially signed the “Big and Beautiful” Tax and Spending Bill. In addition, last week Trump also mentioned that new tariff rate demands would be sent to other countries. On Friday, Trump signed letters addressed to 12 countries, which will be mailed to those countries on Monday. When asked if more agreements would be reached soon, Trump said there are still a few agreements in progress, but his preference is to first send letters specifying the tariff rates because it is much simpler. This aligns with the U.S. negotiation tactic of putting pressure on the opposing party.
